Hyperlocal Delivery App Development for a Tier-2 City Logistics Platform

Project Overview

Aalpha Information Systems developed Zumy, a full-stack hyperlocal delivery and mobility platform built for tier-2 Indian cities. The platform was designed to solve a clear operational gap in cities such as Hubli-Dharwad, where customers, local businesses, restaurants, and delivery partners needed a faster, simpler, and more affordable way to manage intra-city movement.

Zumy brings parcel delivery, food delivery, and bike taxi services into one unified platform powered by a shared runner network and city-level delivery infrastructure. Instead of building separate systems for each service category, the platform was planned around a single operational engine that could support multiple revenue streams from the same supply network.

The engagement covered end-to-end product development, including customer mobile apps, runner workflows, live tracking, order management, payment flows, admin operations, restaurant coordination, notifications, and scalable backend architecture.

Client Background

Zumy Labs Private Limited is a hyperlocal logistics and mobility startup focused on tier-2 and tier-3 Indian cities. The company started with Hubli-Dharwad as its launch market and built its model around the daily movement needs of local users and businesses.

The platform supports three major service lines:

Zumy Parcel for intra-city parcel and small goods delivery.

Zumy Food for local restaurant ordering and food delivery.

Zumy Hop for short-distance bike taxi and people movement.

Zumy was created for markets where traditional large-city delivery models do not always fit local economics, road patterns, merchant behavior, or customer expectations.
